Staff at the hotel were exceptionally helpful and even provided us with a carer’s room which had an adjoining door with the accessible one. The carer’s room number was 426, it had 2 twin beds with a small bathroom with a shower. The accessible room I stayed in was 427, the room had a large medium height double bed which had a perfect gap underneath suitable for a hoist. The bed was very close to the wall on the left side when facing the bed and had fitted side tables so cannot be moved away from the wall; meaning only the right can be accessed using a hoist.

The only issue we found was with the bathroom, there was a large lip on entering the bathroom which made it very difficult to push the hoist wheels over, however once in the bathroom the wet room had plenty of space for a hoist and a wheelchair. The shower chair was medium size and folded down from the wall with rails and the shower on the right side (when sitting on the shower seat), The toilet was positioned against the wall on the left side (when facing) which would be an issue if the left side is the preferred transfer side.

When booking the room I was informed disabled car parking can be reserved, but on arrival the space was already taken, however staff made another space and were very accommodating. There is no height limit for the car park and the barrier is lifted after giving your number plate and paying the parking charge at the hotel reception.
